OLMSTED RETREAT FOR WOMEN...

"Praying in Color"

with Rev. Lisa Grant

the Fall Women’s Spirituality Retreat

September 23-25, 2012

Our time together will introduce participants to praying beyond words.  The resource is a book by the same title written by Sybil MacBeth.  Come explore praying with the right side of your brain.
Do you love color?
Do you hunger to know God better?
Are you tired of words?
Do you have good intentions about praying and then find yourself distracted, impatient, restless, and bored with your own voice and thoughts?
Then come play with us as we doodle, color, and even fidget our way into the presence of God.

Copies of the MacBeth book will be available for purchase.  All supplies for experimenting with this new path to God will be provided.

Plan to arrive and register:  September 23, 2012 between 3pm and 5pm.  The retreat will begin with Dinner and continue through lunch on September 25.
Cost: •$182.00 per person  (tuition= $60; room & board= $122)    Private Room request (if available): Additional $20.00

Pavilion Shower (and a note of Thanks!)

Thanks to all who made the church service and picnic possible this past Sunday! We thought it was a great success and hope you enjoyed your outdoor worship experience as well!

If you looked around you could see everything is looking great out there too! The kitchen is still in process however... so... we are having a "Pavilion Shower" to help finish up the details needed in the kitchen and for the pavilion use in general.

Items donated (see list in August newsletter) need to be new or in good shape (if used). Monetary donations can be placed in an envelope and marked "Pavilion" and given at or sent to F.U.M.C.. Someone who has researched the best prices for items will make sure they are purchased and placed in the new pavilion. (The goal for these needs is about $5,000.)

Thanks so much Church Family!

Welcome Home

Mary, the woman who writes the devotionals on her blog, Who Needs His Love?, recently lost her father.
She wanted to share this post with you during this time and hopes it ministers to those who also may be going through a "storm" in life.

She also wrote the song, "Welcome Home".
