Lenten Devotionals
Lent originated in the very
earliest days of the Church as a season of soul-searching and repentance, a
season for reflection, and a preparatory time for Easter. By observing the
forty days (technically 46 days, but Sundays are not counted) of Lent, the
individual Christian imitates Jesus’ withdrawal into the wilderness for forty
days. Christians throughout the ages have marked these days by various means.
Many Christians today purchase special Lenten devotionals that provide readings
for each of the days of Lent. Once again, this year we are going to create our
own Lenten devotional together. We are asking individuals to write a
one-page devotional thought for any of the 40 days of Lent.
There is a Sign-Up Sheet in The Welcome Center. Please select a day by writing
your name in that square.
Your individual
devotionals will be due into the church office by Friday, February
1st.
Thank you for
your participation in this.
I am excited to see how God will use our shared
Lenten Devotional experience for his glory. Pastor Chris
